Oral anti hypertension therapy is preferred over parenteral therapy

Oral anti hyertension therapy is preferred over parenteral hypertension therapy because, chronic hypertension  is associated with auto regulatory  changes in cerebral blood flow.

Parenteral  anti hypertensive drugs lower the blood pressure rapidly so when the blood pressure is lowered  rapidly it can lead to cerebral  hypo perfusion and brain injury.

Blood pressure should be lowered only 25% initially maintaining diastolic blood pressure not less than 125-100mm Hg, subsequently the blood pressure may be reduced to normal level by oral therapy over several weeks.

By doing these measures the treatment time is decreased with subsequent decrease in price of therapy, and this will ultimately effect the health of an individual.
